Federal prosecutors told to seek death penalty in drug cases
U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions instructed federal prosecutors on Wednesday to seek the death penalty in drug-related cases whenever it is "appropriate," saying the Justice Department must boost efforts to counter America's epidemic of opioid abuse.

Hey, let's pick the low-hanging fruit first. Who could possibly want to interfere with a policy of death for drug traffickers?
What could possibly go wrong? I'm sure the police won't be put in more danger plus it's very useful since, according to our extremely wise DOJ head, almost every drug is an opioid. Unless a company produces it.
Exactly the point. They want an excuse to militarize the police some more. Drug dealers will have nothing to lose if they go out in a gun fight.
