Let's be serious. The Bible was written at a time when most people believed the world to be flat. Today, it's an interesting collection of reported events of the day, many grossly exaggerated, though useful reference for guidance for some. Plausibility of the Old Testament is dashed by the time one's finished high school and subsequent events, particularly those of the last 100 years which make the goings on of the time look like a storm in a tea cup, are enough to fill a further 3 testaments. I find the "Church's" negligence in updating the Bible extraordinary. If the Church wants be be taken seriously in today's society, all it has to do is continue writing the Bible, as the basic material on which it's based has never stopped and it's core issues are far more prolific and globally pertinent.
