I'll admit that I don't study politics, but I don't remember there ever being this many candidates for President between both parties, much less just for one party. And they just keep adding more. It's going to be very interesting watching how one candidate is selected from the group.

According to my quick count on wikipedia, there were 26 candidates in the 2008 election, which if I'm reading this correctly is slightly more than there are currently running for 2016. There are, however, 17 republican candidates running for president, which looks like a record for any single party.
