Russia issues ultimatum in 'biggest crisis in Europe' this century
The Russian navy issued an ultimatum Monday to Ukraine's military in Crimea to surrender at dawn in what British Foreign Secretary William Hague said Monday is the "biggest crisis in Europe of the 21st century."

Moscow is denying this.
The Black sea fleet is denying it, for sure. But the troops on the ground are under the direct control of the GRU they aren't denying it. I heard this on the BBC less than an hour ago. I'll try and link a source.
Please do add the link,I know the Russians are lying.

It's all about those gas lines that run through the Ukraine.
I think you are right thats definitely,part of it.But theres also the fact that Ukraine was about to join up to the EU (the original cause of the ousting of the president) and may have joined NATO or allowed NATO countries to station troops or assets in Ukraine. Theres no way Putin will allow that to happen in a neighboring country.
That is the other part for sure.
