I honestly dont get the appeal of nascar. I love sports. I'm competitive to a fault. I follow sports like soccer and golf that I don't particularly enjoy just because. But I just don't understand the appeal of going left for 4 hours. The best description I've heard is: 'Do you watch NASCAR to see who wins or do you watch NASCAR for the crashes? A little of both.' Also, I've heard it's a lot better live.

I stopped following Nascar after they introduced the chase for the cup points race. However what was good about the series was how competitive the racing is. In a race you'll see dozens of lead car changes. As opposed to say Formula 1 where a single car can lead the entire race. Also in the last few laps of a race often the top ten or twenty cars still have a chance at winning. Something that you don't really see in a more traditional road course configuration.
