Local TV Takes News to Web in Fight for Cord Cutters
Local TV stations are plugging one of the last major holes in mobile video: streaming their news to phones and tablets. The move presents yet another challenge to cable and satellite providers.

I think this is a great development. Of course, my local news was never that great anyway, so I'm not sure I will watch it even if it does develop a good set of streaming options.

Now if I could just get Jepoardy streaming, all would be golden.
ESPN is the single remaining reason I have not cut the cord, and it's getting harder and harder to justify paying for cable to keep it. The local stuff I get on line anyway, and have for years.
I follow my local news stations facebook account. I got my local news on facebook, and it's super convenient as I'm not one to watch streaming news anyway. I prefer my news in aggregate form, a la reddit or snapzu, so local news in my facebook feed is perfect.
