While my current hardware isn't the focus of the current bug party, I went ahead and upgraded to a new Mikrotik Routerboard WAP. Costs about the same as a generic home router, but with far better functionality.
TL;DR: Disable remote management on your router, reboot it, and then you'll be safe.
