Nixon never fired the director of the FBI, so even Nixon knew better than to go full Trump.
Nobody dared mess with Hoover.
Now we know Deep Throat was an FBI assistant director. One could make the case the FBI fired Nixon.
And if Trump, like Nixon, is tying to cover up, that is the angle that will get him.

Yes, Sessions was fired, but then again he himself was under investigation for tax evasion, graft, and misuse of funds. We say 'under investigation for,' but we could just say 'guilty of.'
The timing is interesting, but I have to think that if Clinton won, Comey would have been gone 4 months ago.
