I live near Cincinnati, and heroin it's really bad down here.
There was a good documentary on Vimeo about the heroin epidemic down here, but unfortunately it's private now. It really showed just how normal the average heroin user looks. You'd think that you could spot an addict 100 miles away, or that they're always dirt poor, but they just look like everyone else. The video had a couple kids from normal, or even a little wealthy, families that were pawning their parent's stuff to get high. It just shows that it's an all-encompassing issue now. It's not just an inner city issue now - there's epidemics in the suburbs and wealthy neighborhoods.
It seems like there's tons of people dying every day from overdosing. Not that long ago, a student in a high school near me OD'd, and it was in the news. There's rumors that my old middle school has a problem with heroin, and there's been a lot of kids, that graduated my school, that ended up dying because of heroin.
It's a huge issue now, and it seems like it's only getting worse.
