Soundcloud signs licensing deal with Warner Music Group
Soundcloud has officially signed a licensing deal with Warner Music Group. This means that Warner artists will get paid whenever their music is played on the site. Soundcloud had announced earlier this year that they were looking to pay artists royalties. Signing a deal with Warner is a big step in that direction. Soundcloud also announced that they will offer a paid subscription service starting in 2015.

I have over 30 tracks with Soundcloud. They used to be an awesome site... I even paid for the full membership over a few years. After their last upgrade, with annoying flash everywhere, it's been tougher to love it all the time.
"follow me and I'll follow you" spam, yanking the ability to remove comments in the track field, not to mention poor audio compression (no, my bass track isn't supposed to sound like a robot farting!), I've been seriously thinking about hosting elsewhere. Anyone else aware of a Soundcloud competitor that doesn't suck?
8tracks is ok. Bandcamp is ok. I use both. But SoundCloud doesn't really have competitors in terms of community. Not yet at least. http://lifehacker.co...hare-grea-1601165644
