The Roku needs some real substance or they will be taken down soon. Netflix and Hulu won't cut it.
Is it really that bad?
You got me curious why you don't seem to like them. I have two Roku's (going to order a third here in a few months) and love them both. I watch about 80% Netflix and the rest Plex, Amazon Prime and PBS. They're small, reliable, and stream pretty stinking well.
What sort of substance would you like to see from them?

Lack of HDMI-CEC support, lack of mirroring. $50 compared to a $100 is a whole different story though.
Does anything else support those features out of the box?
