Let's just hope it lives up the hype!

I don't think that's possible. People expect way, way too much from it. I do think it will be interesting, but from what I can tell, it's a relatively small game with an extremely big world. How much there is to see, still depends on how many unique things developers have put in, an algorithm can vary things just so much. And gameplay, I guess, is kinda like Minecraft's resource collection & equipment upgrading on steroids, but in place of building and creating there's... I don't think there's anything.

I think it'll sell well, but I just don't think people will actually stick around and play it for any length of time. It's scope is huge, people like having objectives and when you put them in a giant open world where they can do anything, they get bored fairly quickly. Not sure what all 'quests' the game will have at this point, but if the game's quest system isn't as endless as the universe, it's going to run short on content.

I've seen a lot of people criticize it, saying "it'll be a walking simulator in space".

Is it bad that I wouldn't mind it if the game is exactly that? It seems like a perfect game to just sit back and chill for a while.

I'm more worried that the procedural generation won't create unique enough environments.

It's definitely a wait-and-see game. As in, wait until there are reviews and you see a Steam sale.

Exactly. It's gonna be like Flower or Journey for me, but on a much grander skill. One of those games I simply load up if I feel I need to wind down for an hour or so.

Though I'll probably only buy it once it's on sale...

Wow, this looks fun for VR.

If you have a VR headset to play with, I'm jelly. You don't have an Oculus Rift by chance, do you?

No not currently, I have tried a dk2 a few times but have been putting money into bringing my computer up to spec for the CV1 launch. I also want to see more about how the Vive compares.

I am ridiculously excited for this game. The game just has such a sense of scale to it.

Only thing I want now is a release date.

This really does show promise, and has a BIG gameplay component that I feel Elite dangerous is lacking: the ability to visit and land on planets.

I hope that this game will be enjoyable to play solo and not another game where it's really only fun to play with a party. I get tired of joining up with random strangers. Sure, you always make some new internet friends but how often does that really happen?

This is on my "to get" list as I like sandbox type games like Minecraft.

Hope that it has enough combat and other systems to keep people's attention. You definitely need a break from exploring so that it doesn't become monotonous.

I'm seriously excited for this game. Gonna grab it on PC day 1... which I almost never do!

I love the idea of this but I also hope it has enough variety so it doesn't get stale quickly. The gameplay from e3 this year didn't really excite me too much but I'm hoping it can live up to the hype.

Later in the game, players can meet up, fight, trade, mine, and explore.

Is it really possible to meet another player face to face (ship to ship)? I'm pretty sure I heard that, while you do share the world with other players, you're still always in your instance and you never see other players moving around.

It's more in the lines that you can technically meet other players, but the map is so huge you will rarely actually meet someone. Not sure if they're planning on adding some kind of party system, where the game throws multiple players in the same place together, that would be cool.

It looks decent, but I think it will suffer from the same problems Elite: Dangerous has.

All the "width" in the world, but nothing "to do" if you know what I mean.
