Dota 2 is getting review-bombed by angry Half-Life fans who believe Valve’s continued support of the MOBA comes at the expense of a third instalment of the beloved series. The Half-Life games are on our list of the best shooters on PC. Why? Well, yesterday we reported how Valve alumni Marc Laidlaw - a former Valve writer who worked on the Half-Life series before becoming the lead writer for Dota 2 - has written a "fanfic" (his words, not mine) blog that gives us an insight into what Episode 3 might have been.

In the past hour or so, an AI bot crushed a noted professional video games player at Dota 2 in a series of one-on-one showdowns.

But what do I do with myself when the sports season ends?

Maybe a bit busy for a desktop wallpaper, but something I put together. I've seen wallpapers of the skills or of the art for the heroes (fan or Valve official), but nothing for heroes ever had all of them. So here they are. All 110 current heroes as they look in their portraits :)

The first Dota Major will take place over six days at Festhalle Messe in Frankfurt, Germany from November 16 through the 21st. It will feature 16 teams all competing at the main event for a total prize pool of $3,000,000, and will be produced by ESL.

With the International behind us and the Majors just around the corner, we are excited to have the world start playing Dota in the brand-new Source 2 engine. Within the coming weeks, the main client will receive the Reborn Update.

After an amazing and historic TI5 (including one of the hottest plays I've ever seen) it's all change for some of Dota 2's biggest western teams. Cloud9, Team Secret and Evil Geniuses have all made significant roster changes in the past couple of days.

DOTA 2's The International 5 concluded over the weekend, with Evil Geniuses taking home millions in prize money, and pushing eSports to a new level in terms of fans and community.

Sumail Hassan made $200,000 after one month as a professional gamer in the U.S. His team, Evil Geniuses, will compete next week for more than $6 million.
