The practice of denying passports to people who were delivered in the Texas-Mexico region by midwives started under the Obama administration, The Post reported

This comment kind of changes the tone of the whole story. I mean it is still a very sad story, if you ask me but... it was not Trump who started it, so all those "racist regime" claims are actually exaggerations.

No, the one does not follow from the other. The Obama Administration prosecuted more whistleblowers and reporters on espionage charges than all other administrations combined. Does thatalso mean Trump's regime isn't racist?

No, but it means that if you call Trump racist then, if you master formal logic you should call Obama racist as well for starting those practices. All of them: separating kids, denying passports. It all started back then. If you call current administration racist for continuing them, then you should call previous one racist for starting them. This is called consistency.

See the related link, the Obama Administration did not start those practices. For the sake of argument, let’s pretend they did. After all, it’s not like they didn’t excel at what they did. If we’re honest with ourselves, though, Trump announced his presidential campaign on expressly bigoted terms. Trump owns his bigotry. Why would you try to take that from him, do you think?

Related link is no more creditworthy, then the main link, which says Obama did start them.

I guess you pick the cherries you want the most, objective truth be damned.
