"With surprising speed over the past week, the government has already shifted over 100 of these to a settlement outside of town (three floors a time) and is set to displace everyone living in the building, primarily to Valles del Tuy in the state of Miranda."

Huh, look at that. Just look at how quickly a government can act when there is something in it for them. Let's not think about the fact that these folks have lived and worked in the abandoned unfinished Tower of David since 1990 (another article has the date as 1994). Over 20 years this building has been a slum, some living there for 7 years, due to socialist leader Hugo Chavez. The people were quite resourceful, making homes, places to shop, exercise, and work for themselves despite their government. Over 20 years. Take a moment with that.

And now bam Chinese "bankers" (the move was started before the "bankers" interest was publicly confirmed) come along wanting to finish the building and bam again, placement is arranged for the people residing there.

Move along David, Goliath has arrived.
