Why People Hate EA? Ten Simple Reasons
IGN wrote a corporate apologists editorial a few days ago pretty much saying that all this "hate" for EA is really unfounded. The article completely overlooks every consumer complaint leveled against the company, and there are 10 simple reasons why people hate EA and it doesn't take a genius to figure it out.

I am an EA hater.
Numbers 5,6 and 8-10 are why I won't buy anything that has EA involved in any way.
I only play single-player offline games, so most of these have never impacted me other than DLC. I just wait a year +/- and buy the "game of the year" edition of whatever game I want for like $20-$40 that includes all or most of the DLC. Since I play offline, it doesn't really matter if the multiplayer servers are gone by then.
