Why it’s so hard to keep up with how the U.S. government is spying on its own people
Since 2013, Americans have gained immense insight about how the government conducts digital spying programs, largely thanks to the revelations made by former security contractor Edward Snowden. But a new report shows it's really hard to keep track of all the ways the United States is snooping on its own people. After Snowden revealed the National Security Agency was collecting data en masse about American e-mails, the government said it had ended that particular program in 2011.

Protecting your rights and freedoms is a 24/7 job. There are no days off for good behavior. We US Citizens have been lulled into thinking that this was as sudden and unexpected attack on our freedoms- but our forefathers knew that if allowed, every government and any government will strive to oppress their citizens if given the opportunity. We've allowed our rulers to rule at the behest of their corporate masters for generations now as they slowly eroded the Constitution in the name of capitalism. People need to get upset about this and get their hands dirty to lift the US back up by its bootstraps and get us back on to the path we were following before we started another war with no end in sight.
At this point, we have no secrets. I think this is just our reality. There's nothing you do online that someone who wants to see it won't see it.
The best defense is to not put it out there. That's about all you can do.
It's not so hard, just consider every way possible.
