Getting ready to ask for that big promotion? Is it time to buy a new car? According to this study, you might get a better deal if you cry a little bit. Here, the researchers tested whether people who expressed sadness in negotiations were able to get a better deal. I already work in a male dominated field. This to me would be "playing the girl card" and would be perceived as weakness. You may get what you were asking for, but you will lose respect. I may remember this next time I buy a car though.
