Rahm Emanuel's crocodile tears about the smooth functioning of wheels of justice in his city notwithstanding, there's something unseemly about this backlash. If we take the accusations at face value, the exposure of Smollett's scheme perfectly serves the Magas' propaganda needs. He's not getting away with it. Does justice really demand he needs a damn good licking as well?

Yes it does. The crocodile tears are Smollett's. He selfishly made a big case about himself, not really caring about the impact to credibility to someone that this really does happen to, and it really does happen. This little prick tried to capitalize on injustice. ...and he used the mail system in that little act.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Will say though, that when outfits like Breitbart start throwing around phrases like "race hustler," I'm not sure it's justice that's being stoked.

Yes agree, everything that springs from this does not serve justice.

Agreed, as well, forfeiting $10K bond and some light paperwork — for what he allegedly did — is ridiculous. Surprising pressure must've been applied. Wouldn't want to be him on a late night walk after this either.

It's a little thing, that costs me nothing, and when it's missing, that's a tell. You know, like an 'alleged' justified homicide, an 'alleged' Chicago PD black site, or an 'alleged' 7-year-old's birthday party.

And that is what news snoops should be about. Real heroes to report the truth.

When, not if, me and my goons circle him on a deserted dark empty street, swinging chains and tossing knives from hand to hand, I look forward to telling him deadpan: "No one will ever believe you."
