Cartel Hitmen Try to Assassinate Mexican Border City Mayor
A group of cartel hitmen failed in their attempt to assassinate the mayor of the Mexican border city of Matamoros. The attempted assassination can only be described as the boldest move made by one of the warring cartel factions in recent months. The attack took place when the security convoy where Matamoros Mayor Leticia Salazar was travelling came under fire by a group of hitmen, information provided by the Tamaulipas government revealed.
