A Gestural Interface for Smart Watches
If just thinking about using a tiny touch screen on a smart watch has your fingers cramping up, researchers at the University of California at Berkeley and Davis may soon offer some relief: they’re developing a tiny chip that uses ultrasound waves to detect a slew of gestures in three dimensions. The chip could be implanted in wearable gadgets.

This is definitely a step in the right direction in wearable tech, especially "smart" watches. I would however also like to see hologram displays. It would also be great to add the thermoelectric wristband into the mix. The love child of these 3 technologies in addition to whats already out there would be the ultimate wearable smart watch. But hey, people can dream.
