It's Really Hard to Be a Good Guy With a Gun
My wife and I got into an argument last night over a dead man. His name was Joseph Robert Wilcox. He was 31 on Sunday, the day he tried to stop cop-killer Jerad Miller in a Las Vegas Walmart and was shot by Miller's wife Amanda. Wilcox was a good guy with a gun. It cost him his life.

I think people who use guns, regularly, are among the most respectful of them. I grew up around guns, used guns a great deal... and can tell you that I won't pick up or carry a gun unless I'm entirely confident in my presence of mind.
What worries me more, is the casual / untrained gun user, who somehow ends up holding a handgun. I think this is the fear-driven person you talk about... but I think it's the governments place to ensure that between that fear-driven motive for obtaining a gun, and the actual possession of it... there exists the type of training that instills respect for weapons (as discussed in the article).
