I'll believe anything tablet like with e-ink is coming when I see it. They've been pushing rumors for years that color e-ink is ready and coming to an e-reader like the Kindle at any time, and while I think one very expensive reader that wasn't from a big brand in e-readers came out there has been little movement in the e-ink screens used by e-readers for some time, I think we've had e-ink Carta since 2015, with most research mostly going into how to light it or keep it water proof in different ways by Kobo and Amazon.
I've had a Sony e-reader for years. I still love it.
I remember a friend had a really old kindle, the kind that would read a book aloud in a computer voice from the page you were up to, if you needed to stop reading, but could still listen. Amazon nuked that feature, so you had to buy an audio book separately, but the e-book and the audiobook don't fit together seamlessly any more.
