I was in an Ikea store the other day and as I was wandering through looking for some cabinets, I noticed an enclosed display. In it was a single drawer attached to a little machine, simplistic in design. It's only job was to open and close the door and to count how many times it had done that. It was a live DPA test ( Destructive Physical Analysis) 24/7, test to failure. Now one would think, given the experimental nature of a pretty cool idea, somebody would have had at least the forethought of Ikea to have done enough of those before going to market.
