Duluth schools remove 'Huckleberry Finn' and 'To Kill a Mockingbird' from curriculum
Students in Duluth will no longer automatically get schooled in “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” or the trials of Atticus Finch in “To Kill a Mockingbird.” In an effort to be considerate of all students, the two novels, which contain racial slurs, will no longer be required reading in the district’s English classes next school year. They will still be available in the schools for optional reading, however.

Denying history is not going to make it vanish.
Of course, it’s easier to avoid the subject than to discuss it with the students. Kind of how it’s easier to avoid discussing sex with your kids. Until your 16 yr old comes home pregnant or with an std.
Schools seem to be all about making things easier for themselves instead of doing what they’re supposed to do: educate.
No it won't,but so many like to think it will if they try really,really hard.
I've noticed this as well. Even when I was growing up,I felt some things we had to learn were totally useless and pointless,like memorizing poetry and reciting it in class.
