As a Minecraft fan, I'll have to say a big "No Thanks" to this one. I know that Mojang has mentioned a "story mode" of the past couple of years but I was imagining a new update to the current game, maybe be in more of a RPG style with missions and quests. At least that's what I wanted. I'll be staying away from this one and sticking with the original.

Man I completely forgot that Mojang planned a Story mode! True, having quests (like some Mods do), maybe even random with Artifacts would be a cool addition, but a fixed storyline... not sure how it will play out.

Meh... Minecraft should be sooo much more then it is now, the progression of the game content died a long time ago... The only reason it has stayed in the public eye as long as it has is because of the mod community. I see no reason to take a sandbox game and put it on rails, then try to stamp some kind of storyline on it. I do not think this will work at all, especially in the style of a Telltale game.

Crap... I cannot edit the type of post... Sorry :(

So what do you think about the upcoming Adventure Game? I am highly sceptical about the game, even after watching the trailer. I just cannot see how Telltale (of which I am a big fan of) can pull off an Adventure that is based on a game that lives from total creative freedom and total lack of any story.

Also if i am completely honest I have to admit that it seems Telltale has stopped putting great efforts into their games lately and seems to have their schema which the games run. So... are you hopeful for this title?

I have similar concerns to you. I'm worried they'll end up stretched way too thin. I'm also a bit concerned about the direction. All in all this isn't what I wanted to see from them. I want more experiences like Wolf Among Us, and of course whats left of the Game of Thrones game (which when you get over the graphics has a great story). From the trailer of this one I can't even tell if it's going to be closer to the lego movie or something darker?

First, on a completely unrelated note: I love Terry Pratchett, so you have a special place in my heart already :)

And yeah: Telltale has lately gone in the direction of really shoveling the licensed adventures out and that is not a bad thing per se. But I really hope they don't think they can keep doing that forever without devoting some attention to other parts of a game. Like you said the graphics quality and animations have not improved noticeably over the years and while I am the last person that says that an Adventure needs AAA graphics the immersion is a bit broken if the characters all look shell shocked all the time.

And yeah, I am completely puzzled as to where the story takes us and why it would be worth partaking in it. Let's be honest: The trailer shows the nether portal as a big "Wow..." moment. But we all know what the nether is like, we went there ourself. We all have been scared by creepers, had our stuff destroyed... and we know that the main character does not die in Episode 1. Heck he probably does not die in the last Episode. I'm simply worried that the story can not live up to what we have already seen and can not really pull off suspense when you have played Minecraft. But I'd really like to be wrong on all counts!

          Hello fellow Pratchett fan!

And yes - lets hope that telltale will prove us wrong! But right now I'm not seeing this one grabbing my interest at all - although maybe I'm not the target audience. Maybe this is more geared towards then younger players (or at least constrained by them - I can't see them being allowed to do anything similar to the adult themed games they've been putting out recently)
