    I wait tables and I see one of these articles every few months. While there are a lot of people who would like to see tipping go away, there aren't actually that many restaurants doing it, yet. But it wouldn't surprise me to see it pick up steam. There are a lot of benefits to ending the practice, for everyone but the servers.

    From my perspective it is a losing situation. I work in a large city, and I make more per hour with tips than any restaurant would ever pay me in hourly wages. And because my tips are a percentage of the cost of food, my wages are guaranteed to rise with inflation, unlike most others hourly jobs.

      In all the discussions I've seen/had about tipping, this is the best argument I've ever come across.
