GM food generally safe for humans and the environment, report says
Genetically manipulated food remains generally safe for humans and the environment, a high-powered science advisory board declared in a report on Tuesday. The National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine concluded that changing the genetics of what we eat does not produce the “Frankenfood” monster some opponents claim – but is not feeding the world with substantially increased yields, as proponents promised.

I'd like to know who paid for this study. Doing some research and even though the National Academies has a nice official sounding name they are just a non-profit organization. I'm not saying I believe they'll doom us all, I'm just saying I don't know why labeling laws are so hated by certain groups. If people don't want that GMO food, maybe you shouldn't be trying to hide it's GMO and let the market decide. Maybe move your GMO's to places that need food desperately and would gladly accept them, of course not at the profit margins you were wanting though.
Here is why I ask who is paying them.
This was a quote I found at the bottom of the article. To be completely honest, it's the only one I agree with. Not once did The Guardian link to the actual study by The National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine or any articles referencing the study. Every single link in that posts goes to a related page, or a not so related page. This is so disappointing. I feel like I've learned nothing from reading this, other than that people don't want consumers to know about GMOs.
Bill Nye, "your science guy" concurs with this study.
