Wow this could be huge. When was the last time this vote happened and what were the results?
There hasn't been a full vote on Scottish Independence since Scotland united with England in 1707. There have been votes on more powers being devolved to the Scottish people in 1979 and 1997. Both were passed, but only the 1997 referendum established the first Scottish Parliament since 1707. The 1979 refrrendum was ignored on a technicality: that the total votes for "yes" must exceed 40% of 100% of the total Scottish population.
Thanks man.
I really hope they get their independence because I wonder how that'll turn out.
I have a friend in Scotland and he hopes they get out from under England's thumb..So do I. Freedom! Scotland!
