I wish somebody nearby would ask for the right to build a small chapel as well, just to see what the response would be. I don't know Scottish law and whether they have a 1st amendment situation there so it may not matter either way. On the other hand, it may actually have to do with the character of the land, we have a planning commission in a city that disapproves anything that isn't of the old "bavarian" style architecture for shopping and retail centers.
