They didn't adjust for inflation, which makes this list pretty meaningless. For example it says donkey kong made 4.4 billion USD in 1981, and then list it as below the 5 billion earned by wii fit in 2005, but 4.4 billion dollars in 1981 is worth way more than 5 billion in 2005. Adjusted for inflation, 4.4 billion dollars in 1981 is equivalent to 9.5 billion in 2005 dollars.
I honestly was not expecting Wii Fit to be in there.
Also, I wonder how they calculated the revenue for Wii Sports since it was packaged with the Wii. $6 billion seems like a lot.
I just asked the same thing out loud while reading it and my brother piped in that it was also sold separately and that he had to buy an extra copy because his was stolen by a friend. Surely it didn't sale 6 Billion worth without being part of the Wii bundle.
I wonder when Minecraft will get there?
