Robin Williams death spurts a download frenzy of his movies

His death was a surprise to many, the mourning of his passing had begun and the media cycle is at full force. But thats not the only thing happening...

  • Robin Williams was an extremely talented actor with an ability to portray a wide variety of roles which made him one of the most revered actors of our time. He enjoyed a long spanning movie career that lasted over 30 years where he starred in over 80 movies and 26 shows and guest appearances. As I was looking up his filmography when I stumbled on the The Pirate Bay's most popular downloads for movies which is a screen grab of the most downloaded movies in the last 24 hours (so it appears).

According to The Pirate Bay, the following list is composed of the most downloaded Robin Williams movies, from most downloaded to least:

    • 1 +1

      Dead Poets Society (1989)

English teacher John Keating inspires his students to a love of poetry and to seize the day.

    • 2 +1

      Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

After a bitter divorce, an actor disguises himself as a female housekeeper to spend time with his children held in custody by his former wife.

    • 3 +1

      Good Will Hunting (1997)

Will Hunting, a janitor at M.I.T., has a gift for mathematics, but needs help from a psychologist to find direction in his life.

    • 4 +1

      Good Morning, Vietnam (1987)

An unorthodox and irreverent DJ begins to shake up things when he is assigned to the US Armed Services Radio station in Vietnam.

    • 5 +1

      Patch Adams (1998)

A medical student in the 70's treats patients, illegally, using humor.

  • His talent and wonderful personality will be greatly missed and I for one will be revisiting these movies for years to come. As for the list, I was sort of hoping Jumanji was in the top 5, which was my personal childhood favorite.

If you have a favorite movie starring Robin Williams, please voice your opinion in the comments. Thanks for reading.

I really liked Insomnia from the early 2000's, but too bad it was when he was first spotted drinking on the job which might have been a contributing factor to his suicide.
