I can see the appeal as waiting for an elevator can be a pain. I can see the safety issue as well as being trouble for young kids, disabled or elderly people.
As someone who isn't a fan of normal elevators, my stomach always feels weird when I see videos of these. Although I do think the design is pretty exciting :)
