Facebook loses round one in privacy fight over photo tagging feature
A federal judge yesterday rejected Facebook’s request to throw out a lawsuit that alleges the company “secretly amassed the world’s largest privately held database of consumer biometric data. The dispute centers around a feature added in 2010 that allows Facebook users to tag themselves, and others, in photos uploaded to the social media site. The complaint cites an Illinois law that requires consent on the part of the users involved, consent that Facebook failed to ask for.

I've never been real comfortable with it, they don't give you the option to disallow others from doing this against your will. Sadly, some people just don't care or understand your objections to allowing you to be tagged this way. The fact that they now take voice imprints with their listening mics and add that to the picture database, it's creepy in a massive they are definitely an NSA front kind of way.
