My wife and I lived in a 16'x20' cabin for 3 years with a big 80lb dog.

Here are my responses to the points.

    1. I'm glad we all love each other and enjoy each others company. Clutter accumulates quickly, so you get good at accumulating less. We don't place sentimental value on furniture. We slept on a mattress on the floor. Our only real furniture was a dining table. Everything else we got rid of long before downsizing that much. Our house also did not have plumbing, so we were quite ecologically friendly.

    2. We saved a lot of money in rent, and bills. We spent a lot of time outdoors, and mainly used the cabin as our home base.

    3. We didn't build ours, so N/A.

    4. Our life priorities were to get out of debt as quickly as possible. By cutting our rent by 65% and our bills by about 50%, we were able to accelerate our student loan debt payments.

    5. Ours was in the middle of Alaska and we handled the climate fine. We had an oil stove and not a wood stove. It had no problem keeping the cabin warm.

    6. Our bed was on a loft, but we were not planning on growing old there. The stairs were quite steep, but not so steep that we had problems. Even the dog was fine.

    7. We had experience living in a small duplex before. It was probably about the same square footage, but it was L-shaped instead of rectangular. It actually felt smaller than our cabin by quite a bit. I think it was the bathroom that made the duplex feel so small.

    8. We cook a lot and spend a lot of time outdoors, so as long as the kitchen was usable, we were ok with whatever.

    9. LOL. it's Alaska.

    10. We rented. N/A.

In conclusion... Yes, I could live in a tiny house!
