BitTorrent: Netflix should defeat ISPs by switching to peer-to-peer
It turns out Netflix is researching peer-to-peer architecture. Here's our new report. BitTorrent, Inc. CEO Eric Klinker claims that peer-to-peer architecture can "re-architecture the Web for equality," and he urged Netflix to try it out. The Federal Communications Commission is on track to endorse pay-for-play arrangements in which Web services like video streaming and VoIP could pay ISPs for a faster path to consumers than other services receive.

There are folks working on making the whole internet P2P, not only will files not be hosted centrally but you will be your own provider because the whole system will piggy back on everyone's existing wifi. I forget what it's called but it's all very interesting and exciting and I really hope it becomes the next big "thing" in data transfer/telecommunications. The crutch is it won't succeed unless everyone or almost everyone gets on board.

I'm sure P2P traffic isn't throttled ...
This can easily be countered by ISPs switching to fixed data plans.
