When Canopy Growth opened its first cannabis factory in an old chocolate plant near Ottawa four years ago, it did so predicting a bright future. I think the only thing that would cause the USA to do this is if they could make more money taxing the living daylights out of it than throwing people in the slammer. The powers that be who benefit from keeping it illegal will fight this tooth and nail.
