Totally agree.. The price paid into the current system is way out of proportion to the outcome. Its a web of conflict of interests. I percive the change towards this black hole was the emergence of HMO's in the 80's.
Citizens of many of the countries that have national health care also supplement with personal insurance. It probably takes a combination of the two.
