Why Nintendo doesn’t release Mario on the App Store
Recently, I read an interviews to Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata in the Japanese gaming website, which was very entertaining and interesting. Without a doubt it's to keep value on their IPs. If someone buys Mario on the app store, they might not buy another Nintendo game ever. Get them to buy a console to play, and they'll probably buy at least a few more Nintendo titles at a much higher price than people on the app store are willing to pay.
Makes sense.
