    Yeah that is scary and crazy. I have an HP printer and when it dies I'd probably get some other brand, maybe some generic off-brand printer that will handle generic off-brand inks. I'm not enrolled in the Instant Ink program (thankfully) so my HP does just fine for now. I can't believe that they can make the printer stop using the existing ink cartridge when people quit subscribing. My printer is old enough that it doesn't have Wi-Fi, so that probably helps somewhat (it can't talk to anything except my computer).
