Great article. The main problem I see with these tiny homes is that they don't have any way to hook up electricity, water, etc. (not to mention climate control). So if you were in one of these and needed to pee, you'd have to go somewhere else. It seems like it would be more of a backyard playhouse for kids of wealthy people, than a home that's actually livable in.
Two friends of mine plan to get tiny houses on stilts if their house (where I used to live) in Bridgeton NC floods again...They sent me info on these and they are around 30 tho and do have bathrooms and a wall unit for a ac.
Now that's an actually useful application of the tiny homes ,especially if it has bathrooms. Like you say, it's ideal for temporary living in the case of flooding, etc.
