This is clearly the NSA scandals coming back to bite the U.S. in the ass. Ultimately, it's the U.S. Government who screwed the tech companies on this one.
I'm impressed by Europe on issues like this. I know this is creating a huge headache for tech companies, but they're taking a stand for the right to privacy of the citizens of Europe.

And apparently they thought they could just keep at it and there wold be no repercussions...Now the chickens are coming home to roost.
