Why Americans Renounce Their Citizenship
Daniel Kuettel has vivid memories of the day in 2012 when he renounced his United States citizenship. A heavy fog hung around the US Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, where he would raise his right hand and swear, "I hereby absolutely and entirely renounce my United States nationality." Right before he entered the embassy, though, Kuettel witnessed a serious car accident right in front of him, which seemed almost like an omen. America, where everyone is free to crumble under tax, no matter where they lived for the past 50 years! F**k yeah America! Way to go!
Basically this is the government victimizing their citizens living overseas in the name of avoiding tax evasion. Meanwhile, the real tax evaders happily use legal loopholes that their buddies in congress make sure don't get closed.
