At its core, the blockchain is a technology that permanently records transactions in a way that cannot be later erased but can only be sequentially updated, in essence keeping a never-ending historical trail. This seemingly simple functional description has gargantuan implications. It is making us rethink the old ways of creating transactions, storing data, and moving assets, and that’s only the beginning.

I think I'm gonna have to learn about what blockchains actually are and then come back to this. Then this book excerpt might make some sense. Because I have no idea what I just have read about... It's just a bunch of incoherent rambling. Like a conman that is trying to sell a 'wonderful new product' only by highlighting the possibilities and benefits of it but without touching on how it's actually supposed to work or what it does precisely (I'm not saying blockchains are a scam; it's just how reading this excerpt felt like to me).
