FBI to have 52 million photos in its NGI face recognition database by next year
Database will include non-criminal photos as well as mugshots. New documents released by the FBI show that the Bureau is well on its way toward its goal of a fully operational face recognition database by this summer.

I wonder what they'll do about family look-a-likes? I can show you a pic of my best friend in 1980 when he was 10 next to a pic of his younger brother's son at the age of 10 in 1999 and you cannot tell the difference. I've been told they have a pic of his brother at age 12 and their grand father at age 12 and it's the same thing...you can't tell the difference other than the aging of the photo.
Good point, I guess we will wait and see how the system can work that out.
