London’s vast financial services industry must never again be the “master of the economy”, the shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, will say on Saturday in a speech accusing bankers of profiting from speculation at the expense of ordinary people. You know, it is possible to have some common sense in politics. You can have a free market society that is not owned by banks and corrupt politicians, and is also not socialist despite providing basic safety to their citizens. It exists in Scandinavian countries, for example.
