Cutting edge technology is never worth the price tag. 1 year from now it might.

I'm not a fan of the processing done on this photo - the over graininess and HDR filter take away from the feeling of being there in person. While the individual subject is beautiful in this photograph, I prefer his other less processed photos like the one I linked to below. It makes me feel more like it's a real place, like I'm standing there with the photographer.

Without a doubt it's to keep value on their IPs. If someone buys Mario on the app store, they might not buy another Nintendo game ever. Get them to buy a console to play, and they'll probably buy at least a few more Nintendo titles at a much higher price than people on the app store are willing to pay.

Google's also annoying blocking downloads that it considers harmful and gives no way to over-ride that I've found. Annoying because it's sometimes wrong and I have to open a different web browser to download a file.

Welcome! I too became sick of the trolls and hive-mind so prominent on other sites. Hope the Snapzu community can maintain its friendliness and composure as it grows.

I just hope we get over the fad of letting companies walk all over us consumers with pay to play and pay to win aspects of mobile gaming. Even as someone who prefers Android, I am very pleased to see Apple promote "Pay Once and Play" on their app store and I hope Google follows suit. Nothing ruins the mood of a game like the lingering thought in the back of my head "when am I going to have to stop playing because of a forced paywall break."

Simultaneously a smartphone has gotten my life together and made me impulsive. As with most blessings brought on by technology throughout history, it comes with a curse. Anything and everything is on my phone's calendar with 3 email notifications, one two days before, one one day before, and one four hours before. I never miss anything and my mind is at peace about missing appointments and meetings now. I probably would have gotten through undergraduate without it, but my grades would have without a doubt been worse. On the curse side, I always feel like I might be missing out on something. I don't think checking my email is bad when I wake up, it feels nice to clear out my inbox (inbox zero ftw) first thing in the morning, but sometimes I'm guilty of thinking I should check my email even though I checked it two hours ago. I can't stand the thought of a smart-watch making me even more connected than I am now - if anything I need to figure out ways to make it so I get important stuff in a timely manner, but leave the unimportant stuff in the background without a second thought.
