Dogs slaughtered for meat in Vietnam
Packed tight into wire baskets sometimes 20 or more to a cage animal rights activists say as many as 200,000 live dogs every year are smuggled from northeast Thailand across the Mekong River destined for restaurants in Vietnam.

I fucking hate (some) people.
No animal should be treated this way, whether they are a food source or not. Yes, I think it's WRONG to eat dogs but if they are going to eat them, they at least need to be treated humanely. I'm not sure that they treat people all that much better in these countries though.
Dogs should never be eaten. Ever. They are far too intelligent and share emotional bonds much too closely with humans for me to ever consider them as a food source. I would rather die than eat a dog. Call me foolish but it's the truth and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
every country has its customs
Have a trip planned to asia during the 2nd half of summer, and was thinking of stopping by Vietnam to check out the culture and try out some real pho. Not anymore, don't want to accidentally eat some poor dog.
