I'm from Reddit! Same user name. Thought I'd try this out because it looked so pretty, a nice change from Reddit. I like Reddit's simplicity, but things seem clean and well organized over here while also being pretty. I like how images are worked in, both for posts and as user avatars. I love the submission page, how I can attach a main link, an image, etc.

Apple won’t pay music owners anything for the songs that are streamed during Apple Music’s three-month trial period, a bone of contention with music labels during negotiations for the new service.

    They relented on this: http://techcrunch.com/2015/06/21/apple-music-free-trial/#.d9n1qq:0AVt

Streaming in the browser and on my phone would frequently just stop. Sometimes it would stop playing music, then suddenly skip to the next track. When I was on a VPN, it would intermittently stop playing. I haven't had the stops and starts with Spotify. They drove me nuts on Google Music; I tend to listen while I work and it's very distracting for songs to keep stopping and starting.

    Arel and tags

I love working out ActiveRecord and Arel queries in Rails apps. I thought I’d share some of the more fun queries I’ve designed in Arel, spread out over a few blog posts. We’ll start with one for fetching tags separated by account.

Sounds like the Spotify free tier. I was on Google Music for a while on their $10/mo plan, got annoyed enough with it to leave for Spotify.
