Ontario launches basic income pilot for 4,000
Participants in the pilot, designed to test if a basic income is a better way to support people living in poverty than the current system, will be randomly chosen by mail in the test communities and begin as early as this summer.

This is really cool. Basic income programs seem.like a really good way to handle social safety nets on paper. It will be cool to see how this plays out. Hopefully it works well and other countries/provinces will follow by example.
So it's like a free mini lottery for the poor?
